The Elm Hurst Inn and Country Spa is a beautiful location to have a wedding.  Old Victorian class surrounds modern amenities.  In the summer and winter the outdoor locations to photograph couples are endless.  Over the past eleven years we have photographed weddings and families there numerous times, since it is practically in our backyard. Traditionally we are there for 6 to 10 hours depending on the coverage.  But Sarah and James are not your traditional couple.

As she explains, “We both couldn’t decide where we wanted to have our photos taken so we just thought to have them done in the studio. We are very happy with the outcome. I love doing things different, not having the same as everyone else and the photos are just this. I think that having them done this way made it more about us and not our surroundings, it was lots of fun!“…”We first met in November of 2008. My friend had a few people over for dinner and she invited her brother-in-law  (James) she was trying to set the two of us up. I was definitely drawn to him and thought he was a cutie but I’m really shy and not one to make the moves and there were a lot of people there, so life went on..also I was a single parent of two children and thought I was doomed for loneliness, so I just blocked any thoughts of a man out of my head. But  my dear friend  was so sure that James and I were perfect for each other. So nine months later she invited him to go to a BBQ …A few days after the BBQ he gave me a call and we talked for hours, we really hit it off! My children fell for him quickly and he was so great with them. Being that we lived almost two hours away from each other the phone is how we got to know each other, we saw each other on the weekends. It all went fast but we both just knew, you know the feeling you get in your gut, THIS IS IT, this is the ONE! So on December the 24th, 2009, James purposed, the sweetest thing, and of course I said yes. We both just wanted to start our life together so we were married on January 30th, 2010. We are all very happy! I am so glad my friend Courtney insisted that James and I were great for each other, she was right and I’m happy to say I found my best friend and the love of my life, I’m a lucky woman!

Congratulations Sarah and James.  We think you made a great decision with in studio wedding portraits.  We don’t get to do them often and it was so convenient for you with our studio being so close to the Elm Hurst Inn.  I think you described it best when you said that the in studio wedding photography concentrated more on the couple or individual more than the surrounding. In the studio we created an Provincial award winning image for Sarah and James unlike what you would traditionally create outdoors.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to do unique in studio wedding photography.
