Spring changes are all around.  At Custom Concept Photography we are changing also to serve you better.  Over the last 12 years we have had regular studio hours.  As the photography industry changes so must we. Trish and I find that we are out of the studio more often and prefer not to put up a sign saying,

“Sorry for the inconvenience.  We are out on a Photo shoot and will be back at 4:00pm.”

No one likes to show up at a business and find they are closed at that time.  For that reason effective April 5th Custom Concept Photography will be by appointment only.  Other than that business still carries on as usual.  We feel this shouldn’t affect photography that much as most of our photography is done by appointment already.   Our framing clients will now have to book in rather than walk in.  Pick ups will be similar too.

We understand that there will be an adjustment period for a short time. We apologize for that, but in the long run it will make business more efficient.

We thank you for your patience and Trish and I look forward to growing personally and as a business.  This adjustment will give us the time needed to get out of the studio to meet with clients and network with other business professionals without disappointing  a pop-in client.

Two of these three may look familiar.  You’ve met Carla and Brandon before in the their maternity session blog post called “Carla’s Curves“.  Today I would like to introduce you to Maelle.  Named after the Canadian Olympic Snowboarder Maelle Ricker and is Celtic for “little Princess”.  Here are some images from their newborn session.  Part two of six sessions they will have as Maelle grows to be one.   Trish, and you, will be along for every step of the way.  Keep checking back because this little princess will be back for more when she is 3 months old as she grows through our “Belly to Birthday” sessions.

Babies, Infants, Newborns or bundles of joy!  All different names for chubby, wrinkly, pink and itty bitty new people.  And no, they are not all the same at that age.  Some are sleepy, some are wide eyed but they all love to cuddle.

This is Finleigh Lynne.  She’s pink, relaxed and a natural; at least in our studio.  You may remember her first debut in her parent’s maternity session with Angela and Nate.  “13 months from Belly to Birthday | Angela & Nate pt. 1 of 6“.  She was snug as a bug in Angela’s belly.  Well not too long after that session, she made her debut.  This is Part 2, her newborn session from her “Belly to Birthday” adventure with Custom Concept Photography.  This is a session all about her.  No props, no necklaces, no tutu’s and no flower pots.  Just all the love in the world from her parents.

Ontario newborn photographer

That’s right.  We have pledged to raise $25,000.00 for a local grass roots charity called PAC 4 Life; Prepare a Child for Life.

Trish, myself and the studio are very involved with babies and children along with others who help in all sorts of ways.  Not only do we photograph many from Bellies to actual Births to all ages, but we are involved with Big Brothers and Sisters, and Trish is also a “Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep” and “Little Heroes” Photographer.

Along the way we have met some incredible people, but none like Wayne and Rosanne Prevett of Kettle Creek Weddings.  We have known him since he started his business in St. Thomas and he even married Trish and I five years ago at our New Year’s Eve wedding.  Last year, when he turned 49, he made a list of goals called 50 b4 50.  He accomplished all but two.  Not bad for an old guy.  One that stuck out to us was his goal to start up a registered Charity to help local children prepare for life.  In his words, while working with local underprivileged children, “We soon began to realize that is was not just low income families that needed support it was the “working poor” who were struggling to see their children develop a well rounded growing up experience.  Having our own newborn we became aware of how costly sports memberships were, how tutoring costs were beyond the average family, camp for a week would not be possible for most Canadian families.”

So how can a photography studio raise $25,000.00 and help PAC4Life?

We are proud to announce a project that will do just that and everyone can be involved.  Custom Concept Photography is producing a limited edition, production run coffee table portrait book featuring children from newborn to 15 years of age.  This beautiful hard covered book will be 10″x 10″ and filled with individual portraits of local children with their first name and a short description of what makes them who they are.  It will be named “Kids of Southern Ontario: Faces of a Generation”.  As the name implies the children have to be from Southern Ontario which is a big area so we have set the boundaries for this book to be Toronto to the Windsor border.  We want to photograph 250 children for the book.  So please help us spread the word by forwarding this on to everyone you know with children.  If you’re on facebook I urge you to join our Kids Of Southern Ontario “Like Page” and invite all your friends to join.  Together we can develop awareness for this charity and raise $25,000.00.

Here’s how it works.

We’re looking for everyday kids to appear in a collectors’ edition coffee table book titled “Kids of Southern Ontario: Faces of a Generation”.

This book will be full of emotive images created in the studio and on location around Southern Ontario by Master Photographic Artist, Trish Roberts of Custom Concept Photography.

To have your child included in this exciting project, simply requires the completion of the registration form and a payment of $85 per child session fee. Proceeds will go to PAC4Life Charity (Prepare a Child for Life) www.pac4life.ca

THAT’S RIGHT.  WE’RE DONATING A MAJOR PORTION OF OUR SITTING FEES TO PAC4LIFE

Carla and Brandon can’t wait for the arrival of their first child.  In the meantime, we have had the great pleasure to photograph Carla’s Curves.  But this wont be the last you see of Carla and Brandon.  We will be following them as their new family grows up over the next year.  As always, with our “Belly to Birthday” package we will be revisiting them at the newborn stage then three, six and nine months and finally for the big One Year cake session.  So make sure you check back often to see their progress and if they had a boy or girl.  What do you think?

Below are the results from their in studio Maternity Session.  I can’t tell you how much I love this belly session and the little booties they brought.  Carla was radiant and looked incredible.  Trish had so much fun withe them.  What great curves.
