As most of you know our business (CCP) is Trish and My’s life.  It is our passion and joy.  It is also a balancing act at times to run a business and family simultaneously, as many of our self employed clients will understand.  Sometimes our personal life can’t help but  get in the way of our business life.  So on the personal side I’m glad to  announce  Trish delivered Tristan Jacob Stephen Roberts (our second son) into the world on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 7:21pm.  All went well and quick and there will be another blog entry to follow.  Many thanks to Tina Weltz of Calla Studio for taking pictures of the birth.

So how did our personal life collide with our business?  The PPO Annual convention was the weekend following ‘ arrival, so we could not make the trip to Ottawa.   Trish was pretty upset she could not make it.  WHY?  Well, Trish has been Nominated for the PPO Portrait / Wedding Photographer of the Year for the last two years.  She was determined to be nominated for a third time.  To be nominated you have to submit 4 images to be judged and all 4 have to be accepted.  All four of hers were, but unfortunately we put one in the wrong category.  So, although all four were accepted into the Provincial Image Gallery she did not get the Nomination.  Lesson learned!!

BUT

GREAT NEWS!! She did win the BLACK and WHITE CATEGORY AWARD for her image “Bridge To No Where”.  That’s an even bigger deal than winning the class award, Wedding Photojournalism, last year. I know it’s confusing to me too.  There will be another blog entry to follow with the four entries.
