Membership has it privileges! At the least we feel very strong about being members of the Professional Photographers of Ontario and Canada. Education is one of the key benefits and one way of improving the membership is to compete against your peers and be judged by experienced and accomplished photographers from across the country. Through print competition Trish strengthens her photographic abilities by learning from the judges critiques. This has resulted in Trish being Nominated as the PPO Portrait / Wedding Photographer of the Year for the last two years. This year she was determined to be nominated for a third time. To be nominated you have to submit 4 images to be judged and all 4 have to be accepted. All four of Trish’s images were, but unfortunately we put one in the wrong category. So, although all four were accepted into the Provincial Image Gallery she did not get the Nomination. Lesson learned!!
But all is not a loss. GREAT NEWS!! She did win the BLACK and WHITE CATEGORY AWARD for her image “Bridge To No Where”. That’s an even bigger deal than winning the class award, Wedding Photojournalism, last year. I know it’s confusing to me too.
Here are this year’s images. “Around the Bend”, “Bridge to No Where”, “Cafe d’amour” and “Sassy”
Enjoy!
